Gateway & Baymonte

For more than 40 years Baymonte has benefited from a generous relationship with Gateway Bible Church and its predecessor the First Baptist Church of Scotts Valley.

In 1968, the school was founded as the result of the vision of Glennon Culwell, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Scotts Valley.  Glennon recruited David Wallace, the founder of Valley Christian School in San Jose, to implement his vision and create a new independent Christian school ministry, benefiting Santa Cruz County students.

Over the past 40 years, the church has allowed the school to expand enrollment, build buildings and make full use of the church’s expansive property.  As a part of the school’s 99 year lease agreement with the church, Baymonte makes a very small lease payment and takes responsibility for campus maintenance.  In essence, Gateway Bible Church is underwriting the tuition of each family attending Baymonte.
