Warm weather and sunny skies provided optimal conditions for the highly anticipated pond field trip for Mrs. Wilcox’s second grade class. Science came to life as they ventured to a beautiful pond near Quail Hollow Park as they discovered the distinctive environmental characteristics of the pond and collected water samples to take back to their class. In the afternoon students used microscopes to examine the water and found newts, mayfly larva, hydra, tadpoles, water striders, worms, and numerous other aquatic creatures.
