Our fifth graders spent an afternoon on the bay with O’Neill Sea Odyssey! They learned about marine biology including life cycles of plankton, their role in the food web and the unique chemical and physical balance that helps maintain life in the sea. They took seawater samples from a net they cast out and then looked at one drop under a high tech microscope and were able to see hundreds of thousands of moving creatures. The students were blown away at the life in one drop of sea water!
