Students with a temperature of 100.4 or greater and/or diarrhea (detected at home or at school), must alert the Baymonte Christian School office and not enter campus until they are 72 hours symptom free or have been cleared by a physician (M.D., P.A., or N.P.).
Students exhibiting any of the following symptoms must be 24 hours symptom free before returning to school.
• Fever or Chills
• Cough
• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
• Fatigue
• Muscle or body aches
• Headache
• Sore throat
• New loss of taste or smell
• Congestion or runny nose
• Nausea or vomiting
Even with a negative COVID test, if the student is still symptomatic, the parent or guardian must alert the school office and wait for the student to be 24 hours symptom free before returning to school.
If a student or faculty member tests positive for COVID, students in that grade level will be excluded from school for approximately seven days. This will allow the teacher and students to obtain a COVID test three days after their potential exposure. Once the teacher(s) receive a negative COVID test, students at that grade level may return to school with a negative COVID test or a physician’s note.
Students may not enter campus if they have had close contact with a COVID patient recently (contact meaning, less than 6 feet away and longer than 15 minutes). Students who have been in contact with a COVID patient may return with a negative COVID test or a physician’s note.
Students with allergy symptoms (such as congestion or itchy watery eyes) associated with a known allergy may return to school with a physician’s note (M.D., P.A., or N.P.) submitted to the school office. If it is a chronic condition, the physician’s note will stand for only the allergy symptom(s) indicated by the physician. Symptoms that the student develops in addition to those cleared by the physician must be treated as a new symptom in accordance with our Health Policy. Please ask the physician to carefully detail which symptom(s) this covers.
Parents/guardians must continue to carefully monitor their student’s allergy symptoms, and not send them to school if they suspect symptoms are non-allergy related.
Students with asthma who develop a chronic asthma cough may return to school with a physician’s note (M.D., P.A., or N.P.) submitted to the school office, provided they strictly adhere to all other Student Health Policy guidelines. Students with a chronic asthma cough may not return to school until they are 24 hours symptom free of all other symptoms (such as congestion, runny nose, sore throat, etc.). Students with a chronic asthma cough who have also had fever and/or diarrhea must not return to school until they are 72 hours symptom free of all other symptoms. Parents/guardians must continue to carefully monitor their student’s chronic asthma cough, and not send them to school if they notice any new symptoms.
Students who have recovered from illness but have a lingering cough may return to school with a physician’s note (M.D., P.A., or N.P.), provided they strictly adhere to all other Student Health Policy guidelines. Students with a lingering cough may not enter campus until they are 24 hours symptom free of all other symptoms (such as congestion, runny nose, sore throat, etc.).
Students with a lingering cough who have also had fever and/or diarrhea must not return to school until they are 72 hours symptom free of all other symptoms. Parents/guardians must continue to carefully monitor their student’s lingering cough, and not send them to school if they notice any new symptoms.
