Our Kindergarten classes recently spent the morning at the Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History. They enjoyed climbing on the cement whale, playing in the park and the fascinating museum tour. A docent taught the students about the Ohlone Indians’ way of life. They experienced what daytime was like for the Ohlones by grinding acorns, carrying baskets on their heads and baby dolls on their backs. The kindergarteners experienced nightlife by studying the various animals around the museum and playing authentic musical instruments. The students enjoyed their time at the museum, especially the sea creatures in the touch tank, the live beehive, and a real snake.
