Two Campus Locations — One Great Start
A significant number of Santa Cruz County students have enjoyed their first school experience in a Baymonte preschool, with two preschool locations in Scotts Valley serving more than 130 students each year. Ask your neighbors about our strong programs and caring staff. We have a rich academic program to nurture and grow your child’s individual potential.
Core Values
We value all children equally, as a gift from God. We believe every child is a unique and special creation from the hand of God. As a result, children in our community gain appreciation and understanding for others.
- We recognize the significance of parents as the primary educators of their children. The preschool program supports and intentionally encourages parent partnership in the educational and spiritual formation process.
- We develop age-appropriate learning experiences which allow each child the freedom to grow at their own pace and not be compared to other children.
- We understand the uniqueness of early childhood learning. Our preschool program provides learning experiences that promote the growth of the whole child. Children are given the opportunity to grow socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually.
Baymonte Christian Preschools unique program offers common curriculum while individual campuses allow us to meet the specific needs of each family.

Philosophy
The preschool’s philosophy of integrating Biblical principles in to all areas of the program is first accomplished by hiring committed Christians to teach in our program. All campuses strive to offer a program that challenges the preschooler to learn by experience; socially, emotionally, spiritually and cognitively. In the preschool years a child develops a concept of himself and others, patterns of feelings and behavior that underly all of his later experiences.
Goal
Our goal is to frame an environment and program consistent with the highest standards which will allow each child opportunity to develop at their own rate of speed. Teachers are careful to incorporate activities that enrich all areas of development. We believe a hands-on multi sensory approach is the best method of insuring that all children are challenged and enriched.
Curriculum
The preschool curriculum is tailored to fit the developmental level of an eighteen month old to a five year old child which includes our Bible curriculum. Bible lessons are taught regularly, but also integrate biblical principles in to every aspect of the curriculum. The children see Christian living through the example of their teacher and the director. They also learn that Christ can be a part of the math lesson, the science lesson and outdoor play.
Daily schedule
The daily schedule for each classroom includes large group activities, small group activities, individual time with the teacher and a time for choice activities. The length of time designated for large group events varies according to the age level of the class and the overall personality of the group. The day also includes quiet and down time allowing children space to be alone and process their own thoughts.
Classroom environment
Classroom environment is intentionally designed to foster the best learning environment possible. A wide variety of materials and equipment are used to introduce multiple levels of complexity and difficulty and are routinely rotated. Teachers are trained to be keen observers of the children in their classroom. They also solicit input from the parents concerning the individual needs of the child. Assessments and parent/teacher conferences aid in accurately providing appropriate curriculum content.

The preschool department offers a wonderful summer program. Children may be enrolled in a two, three or five-day program – either half or full day.
Summer is a great time for creative science projects, outside art and fun water activities. The classrooms are completely different from the school year – as are the activities, themes and projects. Our preschool directors can provide additional information regarding specific summer program details.
Summer Staff
Familiar faces greet the children each day for summer school; returning children are happy to see the same teaching staff in summer while enjoying new and different activities.
Registration
The summer program runs from the middle of June until mid August. We are closed five days in August for staff in-service training and new student orientation. Registration for both summer and fall takes place in April. Currently enrolled families have preferential registration and first choice in schedules options.
