Here at Baymonte, we believe excellence is a continual journey, not a destination. We also believe teachers are not just the givers of education, but also ones who thirst for new knowledge themselves.
Last week was not just a four-day weekend for the kids. While we were excited to give our hard working students some well-earned rest and extra family time, the staff drove up to Northern California to attend the annual ACSI Professional Development Conference. We heard from speakers such as Nick Vujicic (a man born without arms or legs, who is doing BIG things for the kingdom of God), Jay McTighe (author of Understanding by Design), and had the opportunity to be inspired in dozens upon dozens of breakout sessions. The staff not only grew closer as a community, but also came back equipped with the latest knowledge in educational techniques, cutting edge neuroscience discoveries, and effective Biblical integration techniques.
We hope the students had a restful weekend and that you enjoyed your extra family time. We as a staff are excited to be reunited with our students again, and to implement our new-found knowledge and inspiration from this year’s ACSI conference!
