Alumni Post: Bailey Affolter

March 18, 2020 by Leslie Rapolla

This year at Baymonte Christian School we are highlighting alumni – past students who’ve attended Baymonte, many preschool through eighth grade! Today we are highlighting Bailey Affolter. Here’s what she had to say about her time at Baymonte:

I really enjoyed the close relationships I developed with friends, families, and Baymonte faculty. The small class sizes facilitated a learning environment that was tailored to our individual needs, academic or otherwise.

I have many highlights to look back on fondly: The pond field trip with Mrs. Wilcox, 4th grade Rock-N-Water trip with Mrs. Olson, taking part in the talent show, being on the worship team with my friends, Middle School Spirit Week, serving the Rancho de Sus Ninos community, playing on the softball team, and getting super nervous before book reports (oh how I wish for book reports now!). All of these were growth experiences that pushed me out of my comfort zone and into new areas of curiosity, and I grew with the support of my friends and teachers.

Both academically and spiritually, I was prepared to face the challenges that higher education, and life in general, threw my way. The curriculum at Baymonte gave me the tools I needed to succeed in the IB program at SVHS which then transferred to college skills. I also developed a strong sense of self and right vs. wrong that kept me from doing things that went against my core beliefs, and I have the lessons and experiences at Baymonte to thank for that.

Thank you for sharing Bailey! We love you and are so proud of you!
