SmithGroup JJR, located in the historical Federal Reserve building downtown, graciously hosted our students to a tour of their firm, complete with multi media project presentations, digital 3D printer fun, hands on investigation of the samples library, cool SmithGroup swag bags and last but not least–drinks and pizza!
Paul Bohn, Director of Operations and a fellow Texas A&M graduate school alum, discussed how the interior of their firm was designed to allow the maximum expression of the original structure-a great visual example for the students to understand the construction, since most of this was left raw and exposed. The students took notes and buzzed with great questions for the SmithGroup team.
Baymonte was wonderfully represented with this small, but mighty group of respectful young budding architects!
