
A group of seventh and eighth grade Baymonte students were selected to advance to the Santa Cruz County Science and Engineering Fair on March 8, 2014. Savannah Thompson, Wyatt Atchley, Grace Brock, Gabriella Donato, Jonathan Siemsen, Isabella Negrete, and Hailey Bealer represented our school with distinction.
Wyatt’s project on water quality in the Santa Cruz Harbor and Savannah’s project on the toxic effects of plastics in water were both recognized as Projects of Merit in the Environmental Sciences category. Isabella received a third place award in the Animal Sciences category and will advance to the State Science Fair in Los Angeles next month. Grace and Gabriella won first place in the Chemistry category. In addition to advancing to the State Science Fair, the girls’ project was among 20 selected to represent the County in the Broadcom Masters national competition.
