Baymonte Students Honored at County Science Fair Awards

March 26, 2012 by Leslie Rapolla

Baymonte students John Sosa-Guaita, Josef von Haunalter, and David Siemsen were recognized Tuesday evening at the awards ceremony for the Santa Cruz County Science Fair.  The Science Fair, held earlier this month, featured projects from more than 470 finalists representing 50 county schools. John received third place in his category, Medicine and Public Health, while Josef and David received second place awards in the categories of Product Science and Chemistry.

In addition, for the fourth consecutive year Baymonte projects were selected to represent Santa Cruz County at the California State Science Fair in Los Angeles.  Josef qualified for the fair with his project, “One Bad Apple Spoils the Whole Bunch.”  David was also selected as an alternate for his project, “Luminol Lightsticks.”
