As highlighted in an earlier Baymonte blog article, our “Better Together” spiritual theme for the year is “Faith, Hope & Love”. We are very excited to be focusing on how faithful God is to us, the hope that we have because of Jesus, and the love that we as a school community can share with others. We have been learning about faith, hope and love through special chapels, classroom activities, and schoolwide projects.
The first spiritual theme chapel was this Fall on November 2nd with the spotlight being on “faith”. Josh Toback from Vintage Faith Church shared God’s word with us and reminded us about God’s awesome promises and practical ways to build our own faith. The schoolwide project that we did for faith was a “faith walk” with each class contributing “footprints of faith” art for the culminating event which took place in the courtyard and chapel on December 9th.
Our second spiritual theme chapel was on January 18th with the focus being on “hope”. Dayna Condy from GateWay Bible Church shared God’s word with us and challenged us to maintain hope-filled attitude and focus. The schoolwide project that we did for hope was a “hope links us together” chain. Every K-8th grade student created a link out of construction paper with a phrase or Bible verse about hope that was then added to a class chain. The connected hope chains were draped for all to see in the courtyard before chapel and then on the handrail by the school office and the elementary fence on March 7th.
Our third spiritual theme chapel was on March 14th. The center of attention for this chapel was “love”. Baymonte’s own Rebekah Jones and Liz Kitch shared with the elementary students and Steve Richardson of Gateway spoke to the middle schoolers. The chapel speakers talked about how much God loves us and challenged us to think of creative and practical ways to show His love to the world. Our exploration of God’s lovewill continue throughout the spring and will peak with class service projects for our local and global communities.
We are very excited about Baymonte’s spiritual focus and God has answered our prayers for a year filled with faith, hope and love. The challenge remains, though, to share our amazing journey in Jesus with the world! Are you up for it? We know that you are! And, by the grace of God, so are we. May we, as the community of Baymonte Christian School, continue to glorify Him in all that we do…
“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.”
