Dear Parents,
Our School Board and Administration have made the decision, in light of the ongoing spread of the COVID-19 virus, to close the school campus from grades kindergarten through eighth grade beginning Monday March 16th and extending through Friday April 3rd. We will transition to a distance learning plan beginning Tuesday, March 17th. On Monday March 16th, teachers will email parents with specific details of their grade level instructional plans.
We do not have any known cases of the COVID-19 virus in our school population, but we are taking this step in the best interest of our students, families, and our greater community. We believe this step will help with the prevention and containment of the virus.
Teachers will be present on campus on Monday morning, March 16th, so that you may pick up any school supplies that you may need. We will be using Google Classroom as our initial means of delivering digital instruction. If you do not have a device your student can use to access the internet, we can loan you one of our student Chromebooks. In a meeting with the County Superintendent of Schools this morning, we learned that Comcast will provide two free months of their service for families without internet access.
Instructions to join your student’s Google Classroom will be going home with them today. Our goal is to provide a continuity of their education and for them to remain connected to their class and our school community.
During the week of Easter vacation, we will be evaluating our decision to resume classes on campus. Please pray with us for the success of this endeavor and the safety of our community. God is in control, He is our strength; let’s support our children as we navigate this unique time.
In Christ,
Steve Patterson
Principal
