Dear Beloved Baymonte Family,
Just thinking of you makes me smile. Amidst the daily challenges of the “new normal”, I hope you are enjoying some sweet moments with your families. For me, shelter-in-place has prompted some personal reflection. Recently, this question came to mind, “What are you feeding yourself?” I have to admit, I have been thinking a lot about food lately…what food to purchase at the market and what meals to prepare for my family. I know I’m not alone, as many of us put a lot of thought and effort into what we eat. Whether its upping our fruit and veggie intake or cutting back on carbs, we give a lot attention to food!
Deep down though, I know this question is not about food; it’s God asking me to consider my spiritual diet. His gentle prompting has given me an opportunity to take a closer look at what I’m “feeding myself”. I challenge you to consider what your spiritual diet looks like, too. What news, social media, television, movies and music are you feeding on? I’m finding that now is a wonderful time to feast on God’s Word. I encourage you to read your Bible, journal, listen to worship music and spend time with God in prayer.
Jesus said this,
“‘Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him and he with me.'”
Revelation 3:20
I pray that you will take Jesus at His Word, and find that He truly satisfies like nothing else can!
Love Always,
Courtney Skinner
