Kelly Matson is joining Baymonte Christian School as the new 7th and 8th grade math teacher. Kelly and her family are excited to become a part of the Baymonte team! She and her husband, Topher, moved to Mount Hermon 4 years ago from Auburn, CA and have enjoyed raising their two children, Parker (4) and Chase (2) in the Santa Cruz mountains. Before embarking on the incredible journey of raising children, Kelly was a middle school math teacher in Auburn for 6 years. She has also worked as a Deaf and hard of hearing itinerant teacher and a paraeducator. The Matson’s enjoy being outside as much as they can and you will often find them enjoying the mountains by hiking and exploring all the local trails. You will also see them at the beach building sand castles, looking for sea glass, and playing in the waves. Kelly loves being outside and finds connection with God when she is out in His creation. In her “spare time” you will often find her trail running in Henry Cowell. Kelly is excited to be joining Baymonte and is passionate about teaching students how incredible math can be. Her goal is to spark wonder and awe in her students through the magic of mathematics and to show them how math can be applied to almost everything in the real world! Welcome to Baymonte, Kelly!
