This past week our Kindergarten Teachers, Mrs. Murphy and Mrs. Toback, visited our preschool campuses to teach a special lesson to our Sunshine and Rainbow classes. Mrs. Murphy describes her visit below:
What a privilege it was to visit our three preschool campuses! I had a delightful time meeting the four and five year olds who will be heading off to kindergarten next year. We learned all about butterflies! Preschoolers learned that butterflies are part of the insect family and that insects have distinct features- head, thorax, abdomen, compound eyes, 2 antennae and wings and 6 legs. They might even be able to remember the song that I taught them! We looked at the empty cocoons that once held our caterpillars, and we observed the beautiful Painted Lady Butterflies that hatched from the caterpillars. At ECLC and Preschool Too, we also planted seeds that will grow into butterfly flowers at home. The Granite Creek Campus students had a chance to look at the butterfly garden that my current kindergarteners planted in the life lab. Thank you so much preschoolers for sharing some time with me. I enjoyed meeting you all and I hope to return again soon!
Love,
Mrs. Murphy
