Whether it’s grappling with a math problem, or working on a class project, having the opportunity to infuse God’s Word into mathematics is priceless. I am continually impressed with how my students bring scripture into our class. It has inspired me to be more intentional when I am creating curriculum for students to apply the skills we are learning into God’s word and practice. This year students planned a Thanksgiving dinner party to apply concepts of ratios to a real situation, students also included in their presentation what they were thankful for and a Thanksgiving prayer. With math there are many ways to include real life situations and ask “what is God’s plan for us” and “what can we apply from God’s teaching into our decisions”.
Teaching math at Baymonte has allowed me to grow in my faith and practice. It has been a blessing to be surrounded by a fellowship of Christians walking in God’s path.
