Spiritual Emphasis Week for our middle school is an important week dedicated to developing spiritual growth in our students each school year. This year’s theme “Roots” was inspired by Colossians 2:7, “Let your roots grow down into Him, and let your lives be built on Him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth….” Students and staff participated in meaningful worship in chapel, growing together as a community and being challenged to strengthen our “roots” in Christ.
Everyday we enjoyed worship led by musicians from churches all over Santa Cruz County and “roots-related” chapel stories. Students especially enjoyed our worship leaders Caleb Gibbs, Adrian Moreno, Jesse West, Uriah Volinsky and Victor Passanisi. It was especially meaningful to have Baymonte graduates Caleb and Victor come back to share with us. After our chapel time each day small groups explored topics like faith, satisfaction, trust, grace and God’s unconditional love. One of our 8th graders summed up the week perfectly saying, “I feel like I got more rooted in my faith with worshiping God, hearing stories, having fun, talking about Jesus and situations in our small group. I thought Spiritual Emphasis Week was amazing!” Stay rooted in Jesus, Baymonte!
