Dear Middle School Parents,
Santa Cruz County’s recent reassignment to the Purple Tier has forced us to make some changes to our post-Thanksgiving Outdoor Adventure Week.
We still plan to hold outdoor classes on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, with a home learning day on Thursday. The location has changed from Mission Springs to Camp Redwood Glen on Bean Creek Road in Scotts Valley. The camp is located just minutes from campus at the intersection of Glenwood Drive and Bean Creek Road. The address is:
3100 Bean Creek Road
Scotts Valley, CA 95066
Drop off will be between 8:30 and 9:00 AM each day and pick up between 2:00 and 2:30 PM. We can accommodate early drop-off, but unfortunately, we cannot accommodate pickup later than 3:00 PM at our new location.
We are still planning a great program of outdoor science activities, hiking, games, crafts, and chapel. Students should come with lunch and a water bottle, a rain jacket, and footwear appropriate for hiking in the rain. Teachers may email specific grade levels about other materials students should bring each day.
As originally planned, no makeup work will be required of students who are not able to attend Outdoor Adventure Week due to post-travel quarantine or other circumstances which necessitate staying home. We appreciate your efforts to keep our campus safe by following state guidance on quarantine in the event you host guests from out-of-county or travel out-of-county for the holiday. For planning purposes, please respond to this email and let me know if your child will not be attending.
Thank you for your patience as we adapt to changing circumstances! We are (still) excited for the opportunity to spend time outdoors with the kids.
In Christ,
Baymonte Christian Middle School Staff
