Palmer’s Plaza

June 1, 2015 by Leslie Rapolla

A Town in the Classroom

Second graders, turned business owners, managed a storefront in Palmer’s Plaza this week. Students learned how to run a business, pay bills, and manage their product and finances. They also learned how to deal with unexpected financial situations like a broken down car or a broken hot water heater. Elementary classes were invited to shop throughout the week and were given some
spending money for goods and services. The citizens of
Palmer’s Plaza were also given time to shop in their own town. The week ended with a parent shopping spree on Friday afternoon. The students really enjoyed this hands-on project.
