The fourth annual Baymonte Tech Trek was an outstanding success. We saw 125 more runners this year bringing the participant total to 456. Twelve corporate sponsors joined to underwrite the event prior to the kick-off. A total of $45,000 was added to our technology fund this year, a $12,000 increase over last year. To date, the Tech Trek has provided more than $140,000 to advance our school’s instructional technology initiatives.
The Tech Trek funds are already at work in our classrooms. Scientific apparatus to promote project based learning activities in our middle school have already been acquired. The Accelerated Reading program is on its way along with a new library database that will allow students and parents to access our library collection from home. Additional SMARTboards will soon be installed in elementary classrooms.
We sincerely appreciate the generous support we have received from our school community. Our desire is to provide the best educational experience for our students; the Tech Trek is a big help in that effort.
