We would like to extend a warm welcome to Shasta Blake who will be teaching our middle school girls’ P.E. classes in addition to some 7th and 8th grade Bible classes for the 2023/24 school year.
Shasta was born and raised in Reno, Nevada. When she was 15 she started coaching competitive gymnastics and nannying, working with children of all ages, which is what ultimately led her to pursue a career in education. She attended college at the University of Nevada, Reno receiving her Bachelor of Science in Education. During her teaching internship, the lead teacher had to go on unexpected leave, so she got the opportunity to become a long-term sub for a second grade class and then finished the school year as a sub in a first grade class.
After finishing college, Shasta was ready for an adventure and felt the Lord was leading her to Santa Cruz. Most recently, she was teaching at Twin Lakes Preschool, which gave her the opportunity to teach and talk about Jesus. She loves being able to talk and get children excited about the Word of God and how it can relate to them.
Beyond teaching, Shasta also loves to be as active as possible. She enjoys being outside, whether she’s at the beach, in the mountains, or just on a walk with her puppy, Zephyr. She also loves to bake, cook, and spend time with her family.
Welcome to Baymonte, Shasta! We are so happy to have you join us!
